Is Living Waters on Lake Travis a B&B, Vacation Rental, or a Hotel?
It’s kind of in its own little category ~ there is nothing as unique! Perhaps the best made-up industry term is a “B&R ~ Bed & Retreat.” It has the cozy and intimate feel of a B&B and space for Retreats of many types. Similar to vacation rentals, it is more of a self-catering atmosphere as opposed to a 24-hour concierge service of a hotel. If you would like a true “pampering” experience, we recommend adding one of our special packages!
Why is it called “Living Waters?”
During the construction of our straw bale home, La Casa de Joy, the original owner brought in a group of monks to bless the vile of holy water, blessed by the monks, that is buried just below the center of the home. The current owners carried the “water” theme by creating a waterfall through the center of the property. “Living” seemed appropriate as Living Waters is constantly changing, growing, adding – living.
Is there a boat ramp available?
We do not have a public ramp available at Living Waters, however there are some public ramps available nearby; Briarcliff Marina and Muleshoe Bend.
