HAMILTON POOL
PRESERVE
A local favorite and historic natural spring and swimming hole, Hamilton Pool requires reservations, so plan ahead!
KRAUSE SPRINGS
Founded in 1955, Krause Springs is a camping grounds with a spring-fed manmade swimming pool and natural swimming hole that stays 68° F year-round! With two waterfalls, and their lush, relaxing Butterfly Garden, this is one of our best recommendations. Entry is $10 cash only, so go prepared!
LONGHORN CAVERNS
Enjoy a primitive caving adventure at Longhorn Caverns, an underground wonder created by an ancient river’s erosion. Offers a walking tour, a wild cave tour, and gemstone mining.
Pedernales Falls State Park
Boasting sandy river shores, rugged rock formations, and woodland trails, Pedernales Falls State Park is a stunning showcase of the Texas Hill Country terrain. Hike along the river’s edge, with miles of trails that lead you to waterfalls (depending on water levels), boulder-filled nooks and crannies, and bird’s-eye views of the landscape.
Balcones Canyonlands PRESERVE
The Balcones Canyonlands Preserve (BCP) is one of the nation’s largest urban preserves ceated to protect habitat for eight endangered species.
ENCHANTED ROCK
Visit the massive pink granite dome rising above Central Texas that has drawn people for thousands of years. Climb and hike the historic Enchanted Rock.
